This easy Thanksgiving appetizer will only take a few minutes of your busy day to put together. You can even get the kids involved, or you can make it a day in advance. This appetizer will fit in perfectly with whatever holiday schedule you have.

Everyone will comment on how cute the finished cheese plate is, and no one will waste time in digging in! Cheese and crackers are a classic party snack for a reason, and everyone will be happy that you brought this festive version. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 sleeves of Ritz crackers
  • 1 8-ounce package of Cheddar cheese, approximately 11 slices
  • 1 8-ounce package of white Cheddar or Swiss cheese, approximately 11 slices
  • 1 12-ounce package of salami
  • sunflower seeds
  • 2 raisins or black olives

Thanksgiving Turkey Cheese Tray Recipe

Instructions

  1. In a semi-circle, line up two rows of Ritz crackers.

  2. Shingle a row of Cheddar cheese below, followed by a row of salami, then white Cheddar, then salami.

  3. Using a circular cookie cutter, cut a piece of Cheddar cheese for the head.

  4. Using a scissors or knife, cut a hexagon shape for the body.

  5. Using a scissors or knife, cut two legs.

  6. Make the beak with a piece of white Cheddar and place to raisins or black olives on the head for the eyes.

  7. Use a piece of salami to place under the turkey's head.

  8. Place sunflower seeds on the bottom for the turkey to "walk" on ground!

This is a very cute way to present and serve a cheese and cracker appetizer for a Thanksgiving get together. This is a cute idea to use also for those school parties for the younger kids. I think they would get a kick out of seeing this at their party / luncheon.
