Calling the WÜSTHOF CLASSIC 12" Heavy Cook's Knife a heavy-duty knife is actually an understatement; this knife can handle it all! With a 12" blade, it can be used for butchering meat, cutting through melon, and much more. The fully forged knife is built with the same quality found in all of WÜSTHOF's knives.

The knife comes from WÜSTHOF's Classic line of knives which use something called Precise Edge Technology to achieve an extremely sharp blade. The name of this technology really speaks to the build of the knife. It is hand-honed in order to achieve the incredible sharpness.

The triple-riveted handle is another signature of these knives. It allows you to have complete control over the blade even though the knife is heavy and large. Another important feature, the finger guard, ensures you stay safe while using the sharp blade. 

This is not a wimpy knife by any means, and is probably the largest knife I have ever handled! The 12" blade is just as big as it sounds and there isn't a kitchen task it can't handle. In the test kitchen, we were able to use it for breaking down meat like chicken, quickly and efficiently. 

This knife is especially useful for those in the food service industry. My husband is a butcher, and this has quickly become his favorite item in the kitchen. While the average home cook may not need something so heavy-duty, it is perfect for those spending more than the average amount of time in the kitchen.
