Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 pounds halibut
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal

Instructions

  1. Cut halibut into serving pieces.
     
  2. Heat shortening in skillet over medium heat.
     
  3. Mix salt and cornmeal; roll fish in cornmeal mixture.
     
  4. Place in hot shortening in skillet; fry for 3 minutes or until delicately browned.
