The ingredients Southern Jezebel Dip may not sound like they would go well together when you first read the recipe. However, this cream cheese dip will really surprise you with its tasty flavor. The cream cheese and the preserves give the recipe a fruity taste, while the mustard and horseradish lend the dip a spicy, savory tanginess. This easy dip will be the star of your next dinner party, and it's one of the easiest five ingredient recipes for appetizers out there. Serve with your choice of chips or crackers.

  • 2 cups apricot -pineapple preserves
  • 1/4 cup horseradish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
  1. Mix first 4 ingredients together and pour over block of cream cheese.
  2. Serve with crackers or pita chips.

This one looks so interesting and like a sure crowd pleaser. I have made one similar but instead of the apricot-pineapple preserves and horse radish, it had a jar of pepper relish over the top. It's really good as well. You can also mix it all up with a mixer for more of a dip than a spread. Either way it all sounds yummy to me!

Well this is the very first time I have ever combined apricot preserve, cream cheese, horseradish, mustard and pepper!! Amazingly this crazy sounding combination actually results in a VERY nice dressing over blocked cream cheese. We also had a separate bowl of the dip and it was very good when a tortilla chip was dipped into it.

This dip looks incredibly tempting. I love the flavor combinations. I can imagine the horseradish gives it a lovely piquant twist. This must take the cream cheese to a whole other level. I like preserved fruit and think this an awesome way to eat cream cheese. I can imagine this dip to be a bit hit.

This one is one of my favorite dips to make! I adore the melding of the subtle spicy and tangy flavor combined with the sweetness of the preserves. I actually have made this recipe a bit more as a chutney type spread and cooked it into burgers. It came out awesome! This one can also be easily tweaked with a creamy flavor for a very unique veggie dip or added to barbecue sauce for some awesome, delicious barbecue ribs!

This is so easy and good. I have made it several times but used prepared horseradish not horseradish sauce. It is spicy but addicting. I have also made it using raspberry jam.
