Meatballs with Mushroom Gravy

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp instant minced onion
  • 1 tsp parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

Mix all ingredients. Shape mixture by rounded teaspoonfuls into 3/4-inch balls. Bake in 375 degree oven for about 10 minutes. Pour drippings into a saucepan. Add one can condensed cream of mushroom soup. Blend in 1/4 cup milk or water. Add 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce. Stir often over medium heat. Add cooked meatballs. Serve over rice or noodles.

For a healthier version of this dish, I would use lean ground beef, skim milk, and low sodium Worcestershire sauce. Also, I would not use the drippings as part of the mushroom gravy. The meatballs with mushroom gravy would be delicious served over egg noodles.
