Lasagna grilled cheese? Wow! A simple grilled cheese sandwich and a bowl of tomato soup was always the ultimate comfort food for me. This recipe sort of combines the two with the addition of the pasta sauce to the sandwich along with several different types of cheese. I want one of these now!

This is a great way to use up some leftover materials in the kitchen. Whenever we cook ground beef, we usually freeze some of it for later, so we'd probably use that in place of the sliced meatballs. It's a good idea to use thick bread (like Texas Toast or a thick sliced sourdough) for the sandwich because of the moistness of the ricotta and tomato.
