You know the holidays have officially arrived when someone offers you a frosty glass of eggnog.

But we'll bet that you've never had eggnog that's quite as luxurious as this!

Our creamy eggnog cocktail is smooth, indulgent, and just a little bit naughty (thanks to a dose of dark rum). The addition of caramel syrup and sea salt guarantees that everyone will be trying to figure out what makes your secret recipe so special.

We adore this scrumptious eggnog cocktail around the holidays, and we think you will too!

Cooking Time25 min

  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon grated nutmeg, plus extra for garnish
  • 5 eggs
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup dark rum
  • 1/2 cup caramel syrup
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • whipped topping

Eggnog Cocktail Recipe

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the milk, cream, cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg. Bring to a boil over medium heat. As soon as it bubbles, remove from heat and let sit for 5 to 10 minutes.

  2. Using a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the eggs and sugar on medium-high speed until fully combined. Pour the egg mixture into the milk and whisk quickly until fully combined. Add the rum, caramel syrup and salt. Whisk to combine.

  3. Pour the eggnog into 6 glasses, leaving a bit of room at the top. Garnish with whipped topping and nutmeg.
