Yummm - this is a great recipe to set up and leave alone until it's ready. I'm always excited when I remember I have this cooking in the kitchen!

This is the first thing I made in my crock pot (harvest gold model) in the mid 70's. Still make it today. When we travel I always ask if there is a crockpot available and if so make this while we are out sight seeing. Home to a wonderful dinner.

Omg yum! Everything about this recipe makes me want to run out and buy some beef...and since I've always got tons of mushrooms calling out my name to be eaten, why not? I think slow cooker meals are the best for saving time, developing rich flavors, and producing amazing aromas that linger throughout your home all day. This would be so great with some egg noodles or over mashed potatoes.

Even though I work from home, I have crazy hours. I am considered a second shift employee and most nights I clock out after 12:00. So needless to say, I am not up and about until late in the mornings and sometimes I just don't want to cook. I can whip this recipe up after work and its ready before I get up.

If I could come home to a meal like this, I would be happy about it and that is for sure. Preparing beef slowly really makes it tender so even if you had an inexpensive cut of beef this would still turn out great. Yummy!

Slow cooker meals are our favorite go to for weeknight dinners and in the photo this casserole looks to rich tasting and delicious that I could almost taste it. Now that we have actually made I am so happy to be able to say that it tastes every bit as good as it looks.

I love recipes for my slow cooker. Don't you just love the smells coming out of it whilst it's cooking? I love coming home and smelling whatever is on the go. It is getting cold here now and this is a perfect recipe for a cold winter's night. I often cook with onion soup and love that flavor. I'm also a big fan of mushrooms. I think I'm really going to like this dish.

Tasty, hearty and warming. All the things one looks for in a casserole! I have made this twice now first time using chicken (because we had no beef) and then again yesterday using the recommended beef. It takes mere minutes to mix all the ingredients together, then you put them in the slow cooker and get on with your day while it all cooks itself into a delicious meal. How easy is that. Do make it it really is good!

This casserole was out of this world! When I made it, I added just a little bit of rosemary.

I love recipes like this that are super simple, yet produce a really tasty meal. This is definitely going into my personal slow cooker recipe file. All this needs is a side vegetable or two and it's a great fast meal to prepare. I love the idea of adding a half-cup of sherry to the recipe since I think that would be the perfect addition to this easy to make dish.

I love how easy this simple beef stew recipe is to prepare - all you really have to do is cut up the meat and mushrooms and dump everything in! You don't have to get messy coating the meat in flour and browning it in a skillet like a lot of recipes require. I used crimini mushrooms for this, and the sauce was really good. This would be great on top of buttered egg noodles, a bed of rice, quinoa, or even mashed potatoes.

This is easy and delicious When I first got the recipe from a coworker about years ago it was called Sherried Beef and called for of beef I prefer round or sirloin cut into cubes cans cream of mushroom soup envelope of dry onion soup mix fresh mushrooms sliced and C cooking sherry or red wine beef broth or water mixed in a qt pan covered and cooked at for at least a half hours Do NOT peek util the time is up The moisture from the fresh mushrooms the beef and the wine makes a lovely gravy It can cook for an hour or so longer without harm and I'm sure that a slow cooker works very well I like to serve it over noodles but mashed potatoes are also very good The of beef makes - generous servings It is even better when reheated the next day so is…Read More good for making ahead or for planned-overs It's a forgiving recipe so you can experiment a bit as long as there is sufficient liquid

I guess that this was transferred over and all the measurements I had given were omitted and things are garbled at any rate I use of beef I like the leftovers even if we aren't a large group cans soup envelope onion soup mix fresh mushrooms sliced and Cup wine sherry beer or beef broth When I first made this I didn't have a slow cooker and the recipe called for baking it in a qt pan in the oven at for at least hours It can probably go for another hour without a problem although you may want to give it a check and a stir before putting the lid back on You can lower the heat to to just keep it warm for that time Lynn K thanks for the idea of using chicken May also try pork sometime Alright I foresee doing this in one form or another…Read More frequently

I -montnan and silverschuie - give up and would delete these posts if I could! I don't know why it changed my name, nor why it won't take the measurements I had in the first comment (montnan) nor the second (silverschuie)
