NotesCooking for a Smaller Family? You can cut the ingredients in half and prepare the casserole in an 8-inch square baking dish.

Want to Prep Ahead? I like to prepare the meat sauce over the weekend and keep it in an airtight container in my refrigerator (or freezer) until I'm ready to assemble the casserole. You can also assemble the casserole in the morning (or the night before) and keep it covered in the refrigerator until you're ready to bake it in the evening. Allow the casserole dish to sit on the counter for about 30 minutes to come to room temp before baking (or add about 5-10 minutes to the baking time to make sure that it's fully heated through).

I have a family of 3, but I like to make the full recipe and dig into the leftovers for lunch the next couple of days, since even the leftovers are awesome! Plus I don't know what I would do with 1/2 can of tomato soup - it would probably get pitched. This dish is kind of like a cheesy, creamy version of goulash! A hand mixer makes quick work of blending together the creamy sauce.

Oh my but the flavors in this Quick and Easy Amish Hamburger Casserole just explode in the mouth in absolute deliciousness! The cheeses and the sour cream combine into the most wonderfully tasty sauce that permeates the whole dish. We absolutely loved it and the whole family voted to save it to our favorite recipes folder.
