Cajun Crab Stuffed Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 1 cup crab meat
  • 1 Tbsp bread crumbs
  • 1 Tbsp onion, minced
  • 1 Tbsp parmesan cheese, grated
  • salt to taste
  • 2 Tbsp minced parsley
  • 12 large mushrooms
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • hot sauce to taste
  • about 1/4 cup melted butter

Instructions

Remove the stems from the mushrooms and mince finely. In a bowl, mix crab meat, bread crumbs, onions, cheese, salt, parsley and chopped mushroom stems. Add beaten egg and hot sauce. Dip each mushroom cap into melted butter then stuff with the crab mixture. Place on a baking sheet and drizzle remaining butter over the mushrooms, bake 350F until tender about 30 minutes. Serve hot. Can even sprinkle more cheese over the mushrooms before baking.

I love, love, love everything about stuffed mushrooms but I don't think I've ever had them with any type of meat in the filling before. I'm just wondering and I truly am excited about this recipe but, is it the hot sauce that makes this recipe Cajun? Well, either way I know it's going to be yummy and I can't wait to make them!
