I like what louannwarren 78743 64 had to say about this dish. A can of corn is the perfect addition to make this dish more filling and stretch a little further. I love that you only have to dirty one pot to get a delicious dinner that everyone will love to eat.

I love one pot meals. It makes clean up so much easier. The only thing I would probably leave out of this goulash is the onions. My family does not like onions. The rest of the recipe looks delicious, and certainly budget friendly. I will have to give this a try soon!

One pot meals are always welcome in our kitchen, lol. We used a sweet red pepper instead of the green and chopped fresh chili in place of the red pepper flakes. The dish is very tasty and it was a lovely hearty meal at the end of a chilly wintry day here in South Africa. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

Minnesotans over 50 years of age consider this to be hot dish - not the other recipes floating around out there that are called MN Hot Dish. Depending on what part of the state you are from, corn may be exchanged for the mushrooms. Otherwise the ingredients are the same. Oh, and only if you family was "sophisticated," were the seasonings listed included - "ordinary" folks just used salt pepper. ) All that said, this is still one of my all time favorites, a menu mainstay from my grandmother to my mother to me.
