Let’s face it, though, beef stew is really nothing fancy. It’s just a great big pot full of veggies and beef. But, when it is served with some nice crusty bread or maybe even some delicious beer bread to soak up the beautiful, rich broth, there is nothing better!"

So most of us know that any good stew requires long and slow cooking which allows the flavors to develop and meld into a delicious whole. As a result we did ours in the slow cooker (mainly because I had meetings all day) and, boy, it was so good! As a quick, easy meal I have no doubt that it would be OK but, if you can cook it for longer, I would recommend that you do so.
