It is fairly simple. You do use a can of tomato paste from the store and acan of tomatoes from the store so I don't really see this as being better than just buying the sauce. For me the sugar would be left out. I don't see the need. You could add the spices and Parmesan cheese to a can of tomato sauce and get the same thing.
