Homemade Caramel Apple Sauce

It wouldn't be Autumn without delicious caramel apple recipes. With our Homemade Caramel Apple Sauce, you'll be able to enjoy caramel apples year round, and in the comforts of your own home.   • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 pound apples
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest


  1. Core and slice each apple to 8 pieces. Mix them with lime juice and set aside.

  2. Take shallow frying pan or saucepan and add sugar and 2 tablespoons water.

  3. Start heating it on medium heat. At this point and on don’t mix it just swirl around.

  4. When the sugar is melted and starts to get amber color add butter and cinnamon.

  5. Then add apples and lower the heat. Let them cook for 5 minutes or until fork tender.

  6. f you see that caramel becomes too hard, add couple of tablespoons of water or until you reach desired viscosity.

  7. Serve as it is or on top of ice cream or as a pie filling.
