We live in a small rural town and we do not have a Krispy Kreme. We are lucky enough to have them in the grocery stores but that is not the same as when you can get them "hot". Now when we visit the next town over we make plans to visit the Krispy Kreme and have been lucky to get there when the "hot" sign is on and that is a beautiful thing. This may be a good stand in for those glazed slices of heaven. The ingredients call for can biscuits so that is a good start because I am not a good baker.

I enjoy finding recipes that have shortcuts to getting them done. The recipe calls for refrigerated biscuit dough to be used. What a smart idea. Instead of spending all your time preparing the dough, you now have time to decide how to serve these little darlings, glazed or powdered, etc.

This Better than Krispy Kreme Glazed Doughnut Bites recipe is absolutely the greatest. Using refrigerated buttermilk biscuits is shear genius...can't understand why I didn't think of it. There is no end to how many different ways you can make these. I have filled these with a bit of strawberry jam, and rolled them in cinnamon sugar, also filled them with instant vanilla pudding, and rolled in powdered sugar. Let your imagination run wild.

I really like making doughnuts out of refrigerated biscuits. I usually just roll these in sugar after they are done. I haven't tried them with glaze. For some reason, I never even thought about doing that! Next time, I think I will make different kinds. There will be one for everyone!

Yum. This looks delicious. I will have to try it. I love donuts, but have been reluctant to make them home made since they call for using yeast. I like quick and easy. The recipe calls for cutting the biscuit into fourths, do you then roll it into a ball before putting it into the hot oil?

I have made doughnuts and donut holes out of refrigerated biscuit dough before and they ares seriously so AWESOME! Such a quick and easy way to get bakery-style donuts (in this case, Krispy Kreme-style!) without a huge mess or a ton of ingredients. Feel free to get creative with the toppings like a lemon glaze, a coating of sprinkles, or anything else you like!
