Butercream Frosting


  • 2 cups shortening
  • 2 1/2 tbsp meringue powder
  • 2 pounds powder sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tbsp butter extract
  • 1/2 tbsp rum extract


Put sugar, shortening and meringue powder into mixing bowl. put water in cup and disolve in the salt and extracts. Pour liquids over the dry ingredients. Start mixing slowly and once everything is incorporated, whip on high for about 8 - 10 minutes. Note: The extract flavors are changable depending on flavor you want. You may use vanilla, orange, lemon, almond and mint, the amount is still total of 1 tbsp.
