Icebox Desserts & Icebox Cakes Cookbooks Review

"The first thing that impressed me about Icebox Desserts by Lauren Chattman is the sheer variety of dessert recipes found here. I expected a few classics, but this book goes above and beyond what I would have ever expected. Everything included here sounds delicious, but I found myself especially tempted by the icebox pie recipes and the no-bake cookies. In short, if you are as oven inept as I am then this cookbook is here to the rescue!"

"Why bake a cake when you can use a fridge or freezer? That's the underlying philosophy behind Icebox Cakes by Lauren Chattman, and it's one that I can fully support. This cookbook brings a fun and festive flair to each recipe, and that mood seems fitting for a book about desserts. Not only are all of these recipes supremely easy to make, but I like that they don't shy away from using everyday ingredients. Twinkies may seem like a weird cake add-in, but at least I'm more likely to already have them on hand as opposed to fondant or gold leaf. This cookbook is made for everyday home chefs, and I wish other cookbooks featured such simply delectable fare."
