How to Make Bisquick Pancakes

One of our favorite uses ever for Bisquick is making delicious, fluffy buttermilk pancakes. This recipe can be made using Bisquick replacement like the one above, or it can be made using the store bought mix.

As mentioned above, you can use the same amount of Bisquick substitute as you would use regular store bought mix.

  1. Mix 2 cups Bisquick Substitute, 1 3/4 cups buttermilk (or homemade buttermilk substitute), 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1 egg. Stir until combined.

  2. Heat skillet on medium-high heat and spray with cooking spray. Pour batter onto hot skillet and cook until top starts to bubble, then turn. Cook until golden.

  3. If you're looking for a delicious twist on Bisquick panakes, try these irresistible Bacon Pancake Dippers.

They're still made with Bisquick substitute, but they also have one of our other favorite breakfast ingredients (and they're great on the go!).

I love having my fair share of mixes lined up in my pantry. There have been many meals that they have saved me time and money. This bisquick recipe is one of them. I would not be able to go without bisquick in my kitchen. I do use the shortening, as I have found that I usually use the mix up fairly quickly, and I have never had it go rancid. I just put the mix in a pretty jar and set in my pantry. I usually have to make this about once a month though. We use a lot of bisquick.

Bisquick is probably one of the best inventions ever to grace its presence in kitchens all around the world...And, although I refuse to pay those ridiculous prices for it in the store...not that it's not worth its weight in gold, but these days a girl has got to keep on budget. Luckily now that I have this recipe that will no longer be a problem. My only question is...wouldn't it be best to store it in the fridge to avoid the oil/butter from going rancid?
