Based in chicken broth, the gravy is then enhanced with bacon, onions, garlic, thyme, and soy sauce. This flavorful dish does take some prep work, but don't let that stop you from trying it. This recipe does seem quite fiddly but I love gravies and sauces and this sauce sounds really yummy. It seems to make quite a bit too which is great as I will eat it with some rice. I love pork chops but they are always dry when you cook them in the oven. I would like to cook them in the slow cooker.

Now that we have finally replaced our broken slow cooker I can not believe how long we managed without one! And this dish is one that really derives its deliciousness from the long, slow cooking. We made it for dinner last night and it was so tasty and more-ish that there was a rush for seconds around the dinner table which is definite sign of approval .lol

The flavors are really good together. Keep in mind that this isn't a dump everything in your crock pot and go about your day meals. You basically cook everything on the stove and add it to the crock pot for some slow cooking tenderness. It isn't something to put together on a rushed morning. Worth making when you have the time though.

There is so much flavor in this dish! My whole family loved it. As soon as they were done eating, my husband said, "OK, this is one to have on the menu at least once a month." He never says that. I will definitely make this again. I did use Worcester sauce instead of soy sauce, because I haven't bought any soy sauce. Next time, I plan to make it exactly as written. It is really a delicious dish!
