Cooking Time10 min

Easy

Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 1/4 cup Nutella
  • 3 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare two baking trays with parchment paper.

  2. In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon.  Set aside.

  3. With a rolling pin, roll out 1 sheet of puff pastry to about 12 x 24 inches and cut in half.

  4. Spread one-half of the dough with 1/2 of the Nutella.  Top with other half of the dough, sprinkle the top with cinnamon sugar.  Using the rolling pin, gently press the layers together.

  5. Slice into strips across the short side of the dough.

  6. Twist each strip and place on a baking sheet, leaving space to expand.

  7. Repeat with the second sheet of puff pastry dough.

  8. Place in the refrigerator while preheating the oven to 400 degrees F.

  9. Bake for 5 minutes, turn, bake an additional 5 minutes.

  10. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.

I've always loved the Pirouline rolled wafers with dark chocolate or chocolate hazelnut inside, and this is a wonderful substitute for when I don't have any on hand. Based on my experience with the Piroulines, I can easily see how addictive these could become. The video is quite good and quickly shows how easy these are to make. I definitely want to try these out soon.

I came across this recipe a few months ago and I made a batch to serve with ice cream as an extra little treat. Needless to say I have been whipping them up on a regular basis since them. They are truly a "no fuss, no muss" sweet snack. You can't go wrong with these Nutella Twists.

These look amazing! I know if I made them for a party, they would be gone in 5 minutes.
