Cranberry Apple Cookies

Pass around the flavors of the holidays with Cranberry Apple Cookies. These gorgeous harvest cookies look and taste festive. Include cranberry apple recipes like these fresh cranberry cookies at your next holiday gathering.

NOTE: Don't store these in a cookie jar: they will get too mushy.


Recipe makes 4 dozen cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange rind
  • 1 1/2 cup apples, pared and chopped
  • 1 cup cranberries, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
     
  2. Cream together butter and sugars in a large bowl.
     
  3. Beat in egg and milk.
     
  4. Sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
     
  5. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, stirring until well blended.
     
  6. Stir in orange rind, apple, and cranberries.
     
  7. Drop onto parchement-lined baking sheets.
     
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
