Ingredients
- 3 cups warm water
- 2 packets yeast
- 2 tablespoons kosher salt
- 6 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (plus more for kneading/shaping dough)
Instructions
-
In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine water, yeast, and salt. Allow to rest for 5 minutes. Yeast should bubble.
-
Add all the flour, in two batches to the mixing bowl. Combine until well mixed, allowing mixer to continue to stir for 5 minutes to knead the dough.
-
Cover the dough with plastic wrap and set in a warm place for 2 hours. The dough will rise.
-
Punch down dough, remove enough dough for the day's baking. Knead for a minute or two to smooth, and then shape into your desired loaf size. Place on baking sheet and cover with plastic wrap. Allow dough to rise for 30 minutes.
-
Store remaining dough, up to two weeks, in the fridge in a sealed container.
-
Bake in 425 degree F oven, 25-30 minutes, depending on loaf size. Crust should be evenly brown and firm to the touch. Allow to cool before cutting.

Anything but Quick, clickbait, and 6 1/2 cups of flour would make more than one loaf! I'm disillusioned.

this may be a quick bread to make if you have a stand mixer but for those of us who do not own one how long do you have to knead it for ?

In the above recipe, the dough is never refrigerated. If you have leftover dough and choose to save it in the fridge, you should plan to let it sit out for at least a half hour at room temperature before use.

Glad I found this simple and looks easy bread recipe that worth a try. I have never baked any bread before. Hope my bread turns out as nice as everyone elses. Would be nice to bake our own bread. If this one comes out great, I might never buy bread again! D

This does look like an easy bread to make. I would like to try it. There is nothing better than the smell of home baked bread served with some butter whilst it is still warm. Mmmmmm I definitely want to make some of this. There is nothing better than home baked bread.

There's nothing like the aroma of homemade bread lingering throughout your home and the taste of that first slice right out of the oven with your favorite topping...mine being butter. I've always wondered why they called this bread Artisan and thought it would be something that only the pros could bake up...little did I know it would be so easy! I may never go back to buying bread in the bakery ever again after seeing how effortless it is to make at home.

I can not believe that baking bread could be any easier than this! So few ingredients (only four!) and not a lot of time required for kneading either. The family loved it so much that our teenage son suggested I get up extra early every day to bake a loaf for the day!

Yum! I asked for my sister for her artisan bread recipe, and we'll have to see how this one compares! Definitely can't beat the quick recipe.

I'm not sure the title "Quick Homemade Artisan Bread" is accurate since it takes a total of 2 1/2 hours to raise. I do like that it is only a few ingredients. Has anyone made this? I'm curious how the yeast reacts with the salt. I was taught salt will kill the yeast. Is that why the long raise time?

The smell of homemade bread baking in your house is intoxicating, but so many recipes out there seem so complicated. This one is super easy, and I absolutely love that it uses just all purpose flour rather than whole wheat, spelt, or other less available flours. I don't do a lot of baking, so all - purpose is usually the only kind of flour I keep on hand.

I've been baking homemade bread for years but have never tried baking artisan bread. It looks so delicious and even easier than the recipes that I normally bake! I wonder if the type of flour matters as I usually have more success with higher gluten flours made especially for bread. I'm surprised at the long 2 hour rising! Maybe that's the secret! I can' wait to try this recipe. it looks amazing!
