I love cinnamon. I can just imagine the smell of this bread baking in the oven! It must be truly decadent. I have no idea what cinnamon chips are but I would use cinnamon spice and throw in some finely chopped apple to substitute for the cinnamon chips. I am sure that would work.

This looks wonderfully yummy. I love cinnamon rolls and this is a nice change of pace. I did a search for cinnamon chips (which I hadn't heard of before) and found a few sources. I don't recall seeing them in the stores, but apparently both Hershey's and King Arthur Flour make them. The Prepared Pantry website looks like the best option. Has anyone tried making their own chips for this? How did it turn out? I like the idea of adding apple to this recipe.

I am not a fan of bread, never have been. First the yeast gave me reflux then it left me bloated so I gave it up but recently ave been looking for a healthier option. I cant eat cereal everyday so I found this recipe, it says the bread turns out moist which I likelooks like cake

This recipe looks so delicious and my family loves anything with cinnamon, but I've never heard of cinnamon chips either? I'm wondering if I could just substitute cinnamon or even add white chocolate chips and then add cinnamon? I love easy and quick breakfast and snack cakes, especially ones I can bake from scratch! This old fashioned recipe looks like a real winner to me!

If this is as delicious as it looks, I can't wait. I have never heard of cinnamon chips, but from reading the comments below, it looks like I have several different options. I love cinnamon rolls and cinnamon raisin bread, so I'm looking forward to making this one, and smelling it while it bakes!

This bread is delicious. I baked it for a breakfast meeting and it was a huge hit. Several people asked for the recipe. I would not use cinnamon chips bought from the grocery story. They are not very good and do not melt properly. I buy my cinnamon chips from The Prepared Pantry. Go to their website and you can purchase them. They are a completely different texture than those in the grocery story - they are wonderful tasting and they melt properly in desserts. I do highly recommend this recipe!

This is delicious. I made it as stated first time. ( I did have to make my own cinnamon chips). And the second time added some apple and raisins. Then it was even better. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

Can you share the tutorial where you made your own cinnamon chips??

Where and what stores sell the Cinnamon Chips i am in Northern California and i been to Safeway, Save Mart and no one has heard of them i live close to Chico,ca Thank You

I have been making cinnamon bread for many years and this is the BEST! I purchase all of my King Arthur products at Walmart at a considerable savings, and YES they do have cinnamon chips which are brown (color of cinnamon) and smaller than chocolate chips. They are a favorite with my grown up children as well as the little ones. Enjoy! Mary

I have been making cinnamon bread for years, and this is the BEST!

I made this cinnamon bread and it turned out fine. I made the mistake of trying to cut off a slice while it was still warm and it almost fell apart. So, wait til it's cool before you whack off a piece. I put some butter on a slice and chowed down. Very good. You really do need the cinnamon chips though. Otherwise it's just too bland.

Forgot to rate. Wouldn't been 5 stars.

Where would I find cinnamon chips? Thank you

They're in the same section of the grocery aisle as the chocolate chips.
