Home for the Holidays Banana Bread Mix is a sweet gift idea you can create in your kitchen this year. This mason jar recipe makes the perfect edible present, and you can bet whoever you give it to will enjoy every last bit. Made with finely chopped banana chips in place of fresh bananas makes this mason jar gift easy to give without the worry of anything going bad, but since you do have to add some other wet ingredients later, you can always a make note to the person you give it to that they can add fresh bananas in for even more flavor if they like. Happy baking!

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped banana chips
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups Bisquick
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs

  1. In a large mason jar, layer banana chips, sugar, baking powder, salt and Bisquick.

  2. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  3. In a large bowl, pour contents of mason jar and mix to combine.  Add butter, milk, vanilla and eggs.  Mix well and pour into a greased loaf pan.

  4. Bake for 60 minutes.

I've never made a banana bread mix before, but it seems like a great gift idea.

What a wonderfully clever idea both as a gift and as a huge time saver for the holidays or anytime for that matter. Banana bread is my favorite and I just love the idea of using banana chips! Bananas never last long in my home or they go bad and I'm pretty sure many people experience that problem as well. Using banana chips is a brilliant way to eliminate that problem!
