Sweet & Sour Meatballs


  • 2 lb. hamburger
  • 1 grated uncooked potato
  • 1/2 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 grated onion
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 2 cups ginger ale


Mix all ingredients, except ginger ale and ketchup. Form into balls. Bring ginger ale and ketchup to a boil in a 5 quart pot, reduce heat. Drop balls into simmering liquid and cover. Cook for 1 hour over low heat.

When making this, I would use lean ground beef. These meatballs can also be served as a main dish at home. They would be good served over rice.
