So, can a recipe be any easier? I think this really sounds yummy but it is definitely a recipe for the real lemon lover. So if lemon is not a favorite flavor, you may not want to try this.

Wow, this reminds me of my mother-in-law who always said to mix a can of fruit into my cake mix instead of oil. She said that it always made her cakes so moist, and it was not overly sweet like iced cakes. I think it might taste really good with some whipped cream on top too.

Ok...being completely honest... I broke my foot. I am now unable to walk or put weight on my foot for 4 weeks. I am into week 3!! I have been craving something lemony since my surgery. My poor husband has had to do all the cooking and cleaning. I have had enough take out for a couple of years, but I won't complain. I asked him to make me a dessert of some kind because it was pouring outside and a lemon pie from my favorite restaurant wasn't in my future!! So, I found this recipe! Thank you!! My husband had no difficulty with the 2 ingredients and cooked it for me. It was delicious!! Goey, sweet, lemony, and my husband made it for me!!

I don't even understand how this recipe can work with only two recipes, but it looks good. I've never made lemon bars because they look a little bit complicated. I think I will refrigerate them overnight to solidify them.

What an amazing recipe. I can't believe its so simple. I think this could be used for a school bake sale too. It is cost effective, quick and easy. I love finding recipes like this. I think my son is going to love them. I can also pop them into his lunchbox on those days when he has to stay at school for sport as a nice late afternoon pick-me-up.

I love lemon bars. I usually make mine home made and they are very time consuming. I have also tried the boxed lemon bar mix in the store and they taste pretty good. I think I might miss the crunch the the home made or box mix makes. I will have to give this a try.

This recipe looks almost too simple and good to be true, but I'd like to try it to see how good they are. I love lemon bars but they are very time consuming to make. These look more like a lemon pudding or trifle than a bar, I don't think you'd be able to cut these into bars unless they were partially frozen. I do love shortcut recipes, so I'm willing to give this one try!

To make these less gummy, try making them a day ahead and placing the pan in the refrigerator uncovered overnight. The chilled bars will "dry" out a bit in the frig and will solidify some more when chilled.

My daughter loves lemon bars but I do think the traditional lemon bar recipe is time consuming. I've been using the Krusteez Lemon Bar mix and it is fabulous and quick. I will give these a try though because I like that it's just 2 ingredients. Has anyone tried making a quick crust to put under them?

I absolutely love lemon flavored desserts but am a little concerned about the texture here. I like my lemon bars to be firm and this looks pretty gooey and messy (which can be fine if that's what you're looking for!). Also, you do not need to follow the directions on the back of the cake mix package. Simply, combine the two ingredients- dry cake mix with the lemon pie filling and bake.

I wasn't crazy about this cake. The flavor was good but texture was very gummy . I won't make again.
