I am going to try this when my son comes home from college in a couple weeks. I bet he will love this. The recipe seems pretty easy to follow. It is very well written. This is definitely a childhood favorite that I never even thought about making at home. I'm actually looking forward to making it!

This looks awesome. I would like to try and make it. I have never tried cracker jack. I do like popcorn and peanuts! I am sure I will like this. It is a good lunch box filler too for those days when the kids have sports after school and they need an energy boost.

I remember Cracker Jack from when I was a kid, especially the little toys that used to come inside. I even remember when real plastic toys were included before anything of that size was regarded as a choking hazard, and hence banned. There are a number of Cracker Jack taste-alikes available on the market, and I'm pleased to find a recipe for creating a homemade version of this childhood memory. I've made a pseudo-version using the caramel microwave popcorn and peanuts, but I definitely have to give this one a try.

I can't wait to try this recipe the next time we have family movie night! And it is not as unhealthy as candy, chips, or other store bought snacks since popcorn is a whole grain and peanuts are packed with protein! This would be a great thing to bring with the kids to the park too.
