Popcorn Cake


  • 6 quarts unbuttered and unsalted popcorn
  • 1 lb. miniature marshmallow (1 1/2 bags)
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 pound small gumdrops


Pop popcorn to make 6 quarts. Melt and stir marshmallows, margarine and oil. Pour over popcorn and small gumdrops. Fill greased angelfood cake pan and press down firmly.

I have never heard of popcorn cake. It makes me think of rice krispie treats using popcorn instead of crisped rice cereal. That and the addition of gum drops. I think this would be good with other types of candy. Peanut butter cups or chocolate candies would be pretty good.
