Preparation Time20 min

Cooking Time25 min

Ingredients

  • 16 (16-ounce) package frozen green beans
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 6 slices bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • Pinch of garlic powder, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, fry bacon over medium heat until done, but not quite crisp. Drain.

  2. Add butter and brown sugar.

  3. Cook, stirring occasionally, over medium heat until brown sugar dissolves.

  4. Place the green beans in a pot and fill with about 1 inch of water. Bring to a boil, then cover pot with lid.

  5. Steam the beans over medium heat until cooked through, about 5-8 minutes.

  6. Drain water; sprinkle with garlic powder and stir in brown sugar and bacon.

  7. Ready to serve. Note: If the brown sugar mixture begins to harden, just reheat back up.
