Light and Easy Scones


  • 2 ounces soft butter
  • 2 cups self raising flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • milk to glaze
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 egg


Place all ingredients in mixing bowl, and mix with a wooden spoon to form a scone dough. Turn onto a lightly floured board, toss lightly until smooth. Roll out to 1/2" thickness and cut with scone cutter. Place on lightly floured tray and bake on top shelf of hot oven 400 degrees C. Cook 12 to 15 minutes. Serve with jam and cream.
