Whoever wrote this recipe should be ashamed of themselves. Did a 10-year-old write it? 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef. I'm guessing it should be very lean since it's not drained after browning. Or maybe it is drained? 1 packet onion soup? What does that mean how about a size or weight? Two cans kidney beans. Size? Drained rinsed or undrained? I can't believe someone got paid for this.

Steak 'n Shake Chili but no chili in the ingredients?? We found it very tasteless and boring so we zzshoooshed it up a little with some fresh garlic and chili which was sorely needed. That transformed it into a tasty dish well worth having again. The cocao and cola are great additions to the flavor so don't leave them out!

I read this recipe for Copycat Steak 'n Shake Chili and thought...cocao, cola, WHAT?? No way!! Well YES way. That crazy combination of ingredients and flavors actually delivers one of the tastiest chili's I have ever had. Add to that how easy it is to prepare, and the fact that it's a "one pot wonder" and my friend you will be hooked like I am. Be sure to serve this with lots of crispy Italian bread on the side.
