Royal Icing for Decorating
If you're looking for a simple, fast way to decorate your cinnamon buns or other confections, royal icing is the way to go. It mixes up fast and you can even add food coloring to achieve your desired look.
If you are unable to get the smooth consistency you desire, you may add a few drops of milk to thin the mixture a bit.
- 1 egg white
- 8 ounces powdered sugar
- Beat the egg white until soft peaks form.
- Gradually fold the powdered sugar into the egg whites until it reaches the consistency you desire for decorating your cinnamon buns, cake, turnovers, or what-have-you.
