Easter Rice Krispie Treats

By: Jessica Williams from
Easter Rice Krispie Treats
Easter Rice Krispie Treats

"Easter Rice Krispie Treats made with classic marshmallow treat ingredients that look like cute Easter baskets! Simple, fun recipe for a festive Easter dessert. We love rice krispie treats in our house because they’re a quick and easy dessert that everyone loves. I had this idea to make a really basic Easter variety and they turned out so cute! My kids went crazy oven them and the chocolate eggs combined with the marshmallow treats tastes so good!"

NotesStore leftovers in an airtight container on the countertop. Recipe yields 24 mini Easter treats and 12 regular Easter treats.

Preparation Time10 min

  • 7 cups mini marshmallows, divided
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 6 cups Rice Krispie cereal
  • green food coloring
  • Easter candies
  1. Spray rubber scraper, inside of a microwaveable mixing bowl and muffin tins with non-stick spray.

  2. Measure 6 cups of mini marshmallows out and add them to the bowl. Add in butter, cut into pieces. Microwave for 1 minute 25 seconds.

  3. Pour in cereal and stir until well combined. Stir in remaining 1 cup of mini marshmallows and 10 drops green food coloring.

  4. Transfer 2-3 TBSP portions to a mini muffin tin cups or regular muffin tin cups and press in the center to create a cavity. Let cool to set for 1 hour.

  5. Use a thin knife to gently pop each marshmallow basket out of the muffin tin cups. Place 2-4 Easter candies in each basket. Candies will stick better if you create a good cavity and they have a chance to set.
