Burgers are such a summer grilling staple that no one pays attention to making them well anymore. You can change that with these Sweet BBQ Cheeseburgers. They are the perfect summer crowd-pleaser. They're tangy, tender, delicious, and incredibly easy to make. They're tasty enough for holidays and quick enough for weeknight dinners. They're simple enough for kids and hearty enough for adults. What's not to love? Make these once and you'll be sure to be enjoying them all summer long. It's hard not to indulge in a craving for something so delicious and so easy to make.

Preparation Time15 min

Cooking Time15 min

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1/2 cup Sweet Carolina-style barbecue sauce
  • 4 Slices sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 4 Leaves Bibb lettuce
  • 4 Pepperidge Farm® Sesame Topped Hamburger Buns
  • 4 Kosher dill pickle sandwich slices, cut in half crosswise
  • 12 Rings red onion

  1. Thoroughly mix the beef and 1/4 cup barbecue sauce in a large bowl. Season the beef mixture as desired. Shape the beef mixture firmly into 4 (1/2-inch) burgers.

  2. Lightly oil the grill rack and heat the grill to medium. Grill the burgers for 15 minutes or until cooked through, turning the burgers over halfway through the grilling time. Top each burger with 1 slice cheese and grill until the cheese is melted.

  3. Place the lettuce on the buns. Top each with 1 burger, 1 tablespoon remaining barbecue sauce, 3 rings onion, and 2 pickle slice halves.
