Crazy German Applesauce Meatloaf

There are three reasons why this meatloaf recipe is "crazy." It's crazy easy to make, crazy delicious and includes a crazy ingredient: applesauce! If you want to spice up your weeknight meals, try this Crazy German Applesauce Meatloaf for dinner. Your family will love how moist and flavorful it is. This is one of those basic meatloaf recipes with a twist that you just can't get enough of!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely diced
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly oil a 9x5x3" loaf pan.
     
  2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well.
     
  3. Place the meatloaf mixture in the prepared pan.
     
  4. Bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
     
  5. Let cool 10-15 minutes. Turn the loaf out of the pan. Slice and serve.
