Secret Ingredient Southern Belle Jello Salad

Secret Ingredient Southern Belle Jello Salad is a super easy Jello salad recipe with cherry Jello, cherries, cream cheese, nuts and more. The secret ingredient that makes this no bake dessert so special is Coca-Cola! Adding soda to the salad gives it an extra sweetness, and the flavor combination taste like Cherry Coke. If you're looking for a different variation of a classic dessert salad, give this one a try.

Cooking MethodNo Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 (16-ounce) can dark sweet cherries, pitted
  • 1 (3-ounce) package cherry Jello
  • 1 cup Coca Cola
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese, slightly softened
  • 1/2 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped

Instructions

  1. Drain cherry juice. Bring 3/4 cup of the juice to a boil; add to a large bowl along with the Jello. Stir until dissolved. Stir in Coca Cola and lemon juice. Chill until Jello mounds slightly.

  2. Cut cheese into very small pieces. Fold cheese, nuts and whole cherries into Jello mixture. Spoon into 7 individual dishes and chill until firm.
