Easy

Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 container Cool Whip (light or regular)
  • 1 large package strawberry jello
  • 1 box frozen sweetened strawberries, drained
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare cake mix as directed. Bake in 13 x 9 cake pan as directed.

  2. Remove from oven and poke holes in cake with fork. Every two to three time you poke the cake, turn the fork so as to make bigger holes. (If the holes are not big enough, the Jello will not seep down into the cake). Make sure you poke all the way to the bottom if possible.

  3. Prepare Jello using one-half the amount of water. Pour Jello over the top of the cake, covering it completely. Place in refrigerator to cool.

  4. Add thawed sweetened, drained strawberries to the Cool Whip. Place in refrigerator.

  5. Once the cake has completely cooled, frost with the Cool Whip mixture and top with fresh sliced strawberries.

Why is the name "Lemon Snowflake" on this recipe?

I love how pink this simple strawberry jello cake is and it does look and sound simple to do. I think this cake would be the perfect addition to any little girls pink princess themed birthday party or if you know you are having a baby girls it would be perfect for the baby shower.

Every ingredient in this recipe sounds wonderful but for some reason, I can't get the image of Pepto Bismol out of my head. I'm thinking maybe to make it a little more appealing to the eye, perhaps making it into a trifle instead where you can actually see the strawberries and everything isn't incorporated to look the same. Either way, I'm sure it tastes amazing and I'm definitely going to try it.

My mother used to make a cake like this. I have not seen this recipe for a long time and I am glad it is here. The cakes with jello are so light and satisfying. I won't add coo whip but will make my own whipped cream. I don't like that is in cool whip. Easy enough to whip cream and add fresh strawberries. Can't wait to make it. Good way to satisfy a sweet tooth and just not have it too sweet. Thank you.

This cake is so eye catching with it's bright, beautiful pink color! Adding jello to a cake recipe makes it so light and fluffy- basically like the texture and consistency of an angel food cake. This recipe can work with other flavors like blueberry or raspberry too!
