The Kuhn Rikon JIU Chef's Knife is a beautiful and highly functional everyday kitchen knife. The strong steel used to make the blade is incredibly sharp and makes prepping meals simple. The mountain design built into the blade truly makes this knife more than just a kitchen staple.
I was shocked by the quality of this inexpensive chef's knife. The stainless steel slices through onions, tomatoes, meat, and just about anything with incredible ease. I also think the blades 6.5" length is ideal for handling most food prep. A safety sheath is included to protect your hands from the ultra-sharp blade.
A few specific elements make this knife stand apart from others. I don't think I have ever seen a knife with such an intricate design on the actual blade. This looks impressive, but I thought it also helped push food off the blade as you use it. It also has a unique handle that is non-slip, keeping your hand from slipping. I thought the handle complements the knife well, but could use a little cushion to keep your hand more comfortable.
Overall, this is a great, low-cost chef's knife option for any beginning or advanced cook. The sharp blade, great rocking motion, and ornate design make this knife a winner.
