  • 1 pound Raw Large Shrimp
  • 5 Strips Bacon
  • 1 tablespoon Minced Garlic
  • 1 cup 5 Minute Grits
  • 4 cups Chicken Stock
  • 3 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun Spice
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 cup Milk
  1. Add chicken broth, milk, garlic salt, and pepper to a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium high, stirring frequently, (watch closely as the milk will cause the mixture to rise and could come out of the pot). Add grits and stir them into the boiling liquid. Reduce heat to medium and stir occasionally, cooking for approximately 5 minutes.

  2. Just before all the liquid is absorbed, cover and remove from heat to allow the grits to finish cooking, about 3 minutes. Add butter and shredded cheddar to the saucepan and stir until cheese is melted.
