Peanut Butter S'mores Turnovers

Who thinks to update a S'mores recipe? I would never think to add peanut butter to this turnover. I think it is very delicious sounding. I wonder if my kids will appreciate the change in such an iconic flavor like S'mores. I think it has needed an update for a long, long time.

This was new to me. I'm familiar with fruit-filled turnovers and meat pies (kind of a beef-filled turnover), but a peanut butter s'mores is quite a different treat. These would be great fun to make the next time our granddaughter comes for a visit. My wife loves making and eating s'mores and she'd be delighted giving our grandchild a hand making these.

Instead of puff pastry, feel free to use refrigerated crescent rolls! I have made a dessert very similar to this before just using nutella hazelnut spread and the crescent rolls to make little turnovers. The beauty of this recipe is that you can get super creative with the fillings of the turnovers. Try different nut butters, fruit jams, and sweet spreads!
