Notes
- Use the type of chocolate you prefer, milk or dark. We used a mix of the two for double the chocolatey flavor.
- The top can be garnished with crushed peppermint candy for a holiday twist, or use toffee bits, finely chopped nuts or chocolate sprinkles as desired.

Cooking Time10 min
Ingredients
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
- 1 sleeve of Club crackers
- 12 ounces chocolate chips
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a jelly-roll pan (10 x 15 x 1 inch) with foil or parchment paper.
-
In a 2-quart saucepan over medium high heat, melt the sugar and butter and bring it to a boil. Allow to gently boil for 3 minutes without stirring, but keep an eye on it so it does not boil over.

-
Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of the toffee mixture and spread evenly with a spatula or butter knife.
-
Freeze for one hour. Carefully peel aluminum foil off the back and break the crack into pieces. Store in a tightly lidded container in the refrigerator.

Oh yeah, this is good! We love to snack on treats like these on Christmas Eve. I will make some to keep at home and more to take to family parties. Just a warning, it's hard to stop at one piece! The sweet and salty combination is hard to put down.

Christmas Crack is the BEST. I actually preferred the white chocolate/peanut butter version to the original. The peanut butter adds a ton of flavor. Can't wait to make this for my family at Christmas.

This is one of my favorite desserts. It's so easy to make and it's so addictive! Whenever my mom makes it, we have to hide it from my brother so he doesn't eat the whole pan!

Wow, these are good AND very rich. Had a small piece and enjoyed it. Would make these for a party they'd be delicious with some coffee. Agree with Julia L - dark chocolate would help cut down on the sweetness / richness.

This was indeed crack-tastic! Even though I'm not a big peanut butter fan, it tasted more like caramel and some other good stuff. Enjoyed this thoroughly. Had a little too many. Will be going to the gym later tonite. )

So delicious! I bet this would be great with dark chocolate instead of bittersweet chocolate (but I'm not complaining)!

My goodness. The name of this recipe certainly does justice to the dish itself. I caution all who make this crack... you might not stop eating it. Makes for a great group dish because it will be quickly consumed and enjoyed by all. For anyone conscious of fillings though, beware! This dish is slightly sticky - could cause those with little self control a trip to the dentist.

This treat is dangerously delicious. I'll need a lot of self control to not eat the entire plate.

It really is crazy good! The toffee isn't too hard or too chewy, and it has the perfect amount of chocolate on top. This is a delicious treat!
