- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- For the topping:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350, grease 9x9 inch pan.

In a large bowl add sugar, flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and mix very well.

Add milk, butter, and mix very well. Add batter into pan.

Add 1 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder on to the batter and bake for 35-40 minutes.

Allow to cool for 10 minutes then serve warm.

This may just be the easiest cake in the world to make. Mix everything in a bowl and pop in the oven and when you take it out it has even made its own topping! AND it is very good too!! The children had a few friends over this afternoon and the entire cake disappeared in mere minutes so there is the proof of just how good it is, lol!

This cake is ooey, gooey, and super chocolately. I especially love how it mixes brown sugar in with the cocoa powder. Brown sugar adds such a different flavor and texture than white sugar that takes this cake over the top. I definitely agree to serve it warm perhaps with a scoop of ice cream or frozen yogurt!

In the video, it showed adding water for the topping. The recipe does not tell how much water to add and if you are supposed to stir or just bake as is. Could you update this...would sure love to try it.
