Preparation Time15 min

Cooking Time45 min

  • 1 (15.25 ounce) box butter pecan cake mix
  • 1 (15 ounce) tub vanilla frosting
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • For the Topping
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped

Praline Cake Recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and lightly coat a 9x13 baking dish with non-stick baking spray.

  2. In a large bowl of a stand mixer, combine the cake mix, frosting, eggs, oil and water in a large mixing bowl. Add the pecans and coconut and mix for 2 minutes.

  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.

  4. Bake for 40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the cake pulls away from the sides. Set aside to cool on a wire cooling rack.

  5. To make the praline topping, combine the butter and sweetened condensed milk in a small saucepan and stir until the butter is melted. Add the pecans and mix well. Pour over the cooled cake and serve.

My sweet tooth could not be more ecstatic! :)) The cake is delicious and the icing is sublime. Combined they result in sheer perfection and the sugar rush is well worth it! The children have a competition going to find the most stupendous word to describe the taste and 3 hours later they still haven't found one considered good enough. DEFINITELY a recipe to be repeated and SOON.

I could've eaten about five slices of this. Very tasty!
