Italian-Style Sloppy Joes
Need to get dinner on the table, really fast? Using prepared Italian sauce gives this traditional sandwich filling of seasoned sauteed beef a tasty Italian accent, and it's ready in just 25 minutes. Sloppy Joes recipes have never been more convenient.
Preparation Time10 min
Cooking Time15 min
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
- 1 1/2 cup Prego Traditional Italian Sauce or Prego Roasted Garlic & Herb Italian Sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 6 Pepperidge Farm Farmhouse Premium White Rolls with Sesame Seeds, split and toasted
Cook the beef and onion in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat until the beef is well browned, stirring often to separate meat. Pour off any fat.
Stir the Italian sauce and Worcestershire in the skillet and cook until the mixture is hot and bubbling. Evenly divide the beef mixture among the rolls.

This recipe would be perfect for a busy weeknight. The entire family will enjoy this, including picky eaters. For this dish, I would use lean ground beef or ground turkey, Barilla spaghetti sauce for the Italian sauce, low sodium Worcestershire sauce, and whole wheat hamburger buns. Serve the Italian-style sloppy joes with French fries or potato chips.
