This is really simple to make. I find it easier to blend the cream cheese with spices if I use a mixer. If it is a small amount of cream cheese, a spoon works. But, for 16 oz., a mixer works out better. I don't buy shaved Parmesan cheese, but shredded works just fine. Grated would work to, just change the look. Great for a party!
