With the advent of spring, the fresh asparagus season is just around the corner! I have a rather large backyard garden, and this is always the first thing to come up. They are pretty easy to cook on a grill pan, but on an outdoor grill with wider grates it can be tricky. If you have a grill basket that's great. Otherwise you can wrap them in foil and poke it with holes, so you don't lose any!

The words Lemon, Pepper and Asparagus already had my mouth watering and my taste buds standing up on end and the recipe is every bit as good as it sounds! We had ours as a side dish with dinner tonight and they were oh so lip smackingly delicious that I simply can not wait to have them again.

Asparagus is so good when it's grilled. That is the only way I really enjoy it. So when I saw this recipe, I thought ooh I have to try it. It is delicious! The only thing I did differently was to actually marinate the asparagus in the olive oil, lemon pepper, and salt one hour before grilling. I always feel like this helps in the tenderness. I don't know if it does, but it sure is tender after grilling when I do this. The lemon pepper really stands out in this recipe. I will be making this again after my asparagus come up this year!

I love asparagus anyway it is fixed. I have even tried it raw. I grow asparagus and I get it all because I am the only one in the house that likes it. It tastes great grilled, but have never tried lemon pepper seasoning on it. It sounds amazing. I can't wait til mine comes up so I can try it!

This grilled asparagus is so good! I get it when it's in season from a grocery store that keeps the cut ends on ice so it doesn't dry out. It can get bitter if it's old or not fresh. I lightly season it with the lemon, salt, and pepper and my toddler loves it! This baby is getting used to eating real food-not microwave nuggets and mac n cheese!
