Fried Cabbage with Celery

Fried Cabbage with Celery is a great, unique side dish that is certain to pleasantly surprise all those who eat it. This dish is not fried in the traditional sense - it could better be described as sauteed. The cabbage's flavor is really brought out when heated and cooked in oil. The celery adds a great crunch to the dish. Whether you pair it with your favorite pork recipe or eat it on its own, you won't be able to get enough of this great fried cabbage recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound white, or Chinese cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons oil, or melted lard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 sticks celery

Instructions

  1. Wash the cabbage. Shred finely.
     
  2. Heat the oil over a medium high heat. Fry the cabbage for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
     
  3. Add the salt, mixing well.
     
  4. Wash the celery and cut into thin slices.
     
  5. Add to the cabbage with water.
     
  6. Cook, stirring all the time, for 2 minutes.
