Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup split peas
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Cook the split peas and garlic in water until tender (around 8 min in the pressure cooker, 45 minutes in a sauce pan, 8-10 hours in a slow cooker)

  2. Pour the mixture in a food processor, add the spices and mix until smooth

  3. Pour the mixture back in the pot, add olive oil and heat for a couple more minutes

  4. Serve hot. decorate with cumin and a drizzle of olive oil.
