Sweet and Sour Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 ts ground cinnamon
- 2 slices fresh ginger root
- Juice of 1 large lemon
Instructions
Yield: 8 servings. Mix all ingredients. except lemon juice in a small saucepan, mix well, add lemon juice and mix again, simmer over low heat for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, set aside to cool, remove and discard ginger, makes 3 cups. Note: Flavor of sauce may be adjusted to your own taste by adding sugar or a little cider vinegar.
