Hot Brown
"So you ask what exactly is a Hot Brown? It could also be called a hot mess! It was created at the Brown Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky in 1926. It is a delicious open face turkey sandwich layered with tomato & bacon smothered in a creamy cheddar sauce. Now how could you go wrong there? All those delectable foods melding together in one glorious sandwich!"

Finally, I was able to find a bacon sandwich recipe. This Hot Brown used turkey, bacon, tomato then bathed in cheddar sauce. That's one recipe I would like to learn how to prepare. Oh sooo yummy!!

I recently learned about Hot Brown. I had never heard of it before, but after making this recipe you can bet I will be spreading the word. What a great sandwich. Rich creamy cheese sauce, over Turkey, with sliced tomato and bacon, sprinkled with parmesan cheese and broiled to perfection. I don't know where this sandwich was all my life, but I know were it will be from now on.

I vaguely recall hearing about the Hot Brown before, and it looks really delicious. Anytime you combine turkey and bacon with cheese, you've got a winner in my book. I looked up the original recipe from the Brown Hotel and it calls for using Texas Toast, which makes sense for an open face sandwich, especially one drenched in cheddar sauce or Mornay sauce as the original used. I prefer the cheddar sauce but I might try the Mornay sauce sometime.
